Daria Kaufman

Ode (2018) is a solo dance theater piece that approaches the ballerina’s pointe shoe as a tool for exploring sexuality and the contradictions of effort.

How does the pointe shoe re-figure the body? What illusions does it grant? How does it liberate as it restrains?
